Acuvue Introduces Toric 1-Day Moist Contacts for Astigmatism

by admin on March 16, 2012

Twenty-five years ago, Acuvue revolutionized the contact lens industry by releasing the very first disposable contact lens to the general public. On March 1st, 2012, Acuvue celebrated their quarter century anniversary by unveiling their 1-Day moist disposable toric contact lens for astigmatism.

1-Day Acuvue Moist for Astigmatism Details

Acuvue has always been on the cutting edge of advanced lens technology, and in celebration of unveiling the first disposable lens, Acuvue introduced their 1-Day Acuvue Moist for Astigmatism lens, which provides a daily disposable lens option for people with Astigmatism. Like all Acuvue Lenses, these lenses feature highly advanced technology, including  “Blink Stabilized” design, which naturally re-aligns lenses in the center of one’s eye upon blinking. Blink stabilized design keeps the lens constantly in place, which helps to avoid distortion frequently experienced when a toric lens rotates or shifts in the eye.

Additional to blink stabilization,  1-Day Acuvue Moist for Astigmatism features “Lacreon Technology”, a process that embeds a moisture retaining ingredient into the lenses, so that they remain constantly moist until the lenses are to be disposed of.

1-Day Acuvue Moist for Astigmatism contact lenses block 82% of UV-A radiation, and 97% of UV-B radiation, which not only helps protects the eyes from harmful ultraviolet radiation, but can also assist in preventing excess glare.

Additional to advance lens technology, daily disposable contacts are extremely low maintenance, offer a high level of comfort, and are the safest types of contacts to wear for avoiding eye infection and eye irritation. While daily disposable contacts have been around for years, Acuvue  1-Day Contact Lenses were not previously available for those who suffered from astigmatism until now.

1-Day Acuvue Moist for Astigmatism Overview

Between “Blink Stabilization” and “Lacreon Technology”, Acuvue has created a truly advanced toric lens that will  help those with Astigmatism to wear contacts with a greater level of comfort and clarity. Now that Acuvue has a daily disposable toric lens, customers who experience vision impediments due to astigmatism can experience the comfort and convenience of daily disposable contacts while still getting the vision corrective properties a toric lens would provide

Thanks for the question Susan. We can’t say when your eye doctor would or wouldn’t decide to carry these contacts as that may vary doctor to doctor. That being said, if you buy these contacts through AC Lens, we can save you anywhere from 50% to 70% off your standard doctor’s office prices, and we will always have them in stock!
