March 20th was officially the first day of spring. Some of you I am sure, are pretty excited about this but often with spring comes flowers and with flowers comes allergies – itching, tearing, and redness all around and in our eyes. This is not usually the best of seasons for those who wear contact lenses either. Almost half of contact lens wearers have eye-related allergy problems that often prevent them from wearing their contacts, and others have to stop wearing contact lenses all together.
To keep your eyes as fresh as possible, and allergy free, following the recommended wearing and replacement schedules is really important. A good example is daily disposable contacts. Changing your contacts daily can keep your eyes healthy and comfortable, especially those with eye allergies. Putting in a clean, fresh lens every day minimizes the potential for accumulation of allergens and irritants that can often build up with repeated use of the same pair of lenses.
