No More No-Rub For Bausch & Lomb

by admin on December 5, 2010

Bausch and Lomb have decided to move away from the idea of “no-rub” contact lens solutions, and are removing the phrase from all their existing solutions. Many doctors have always advised their patients to rub their lenses as part of a cleaning regimen because studies have shown the rubbing the contact lens while cleaning it does a better job of cleaning the lens surface. Contact lens wearers have enjoyed the convenience of a “no-rub” cleaning program, but for Bausch and Lomb at least, that convenience is not worth the increased risk of infection and other contact lens related optical problems.

This is not what this is about at all. No rub worked far better for me and more comfortable now my eyes are always red and irritated. They want you rubbing them, because the lenses don’t last as long, are at risk of tearing or snapping so they can sell you more. I am curious if the ingredients are different , I suspect so because why are my eyes red again using the regular solutions when no-rub never did that. I believe its just a way to make the lense last less to sell you more, because no-rub makes the lenses last longer!

I am very disappointed with the Bausch and Lomb Peroxide Solution. I contacted a severe allergy and have not been able to recover. First, my face turns beet red and swells. It becomes extremely dry and then begins to peel. The process repeats itself over and over. The Bausch and Lomb for sensitive eyes has not made any difference.
Generic brand has improved my present position but continue to have the breakout.
